Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
Dino Bilingual (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Dino Bilingual mobile application (the “App”), available on iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: Email address, display name, and profile photo when you create an account via email/password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple.
- User content: Words you save to your vocabulary list and reading preferences you configure in the App.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Articles read, features used, session duration, and in-app interactions — used to improve the App experience.
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and language settings.
- Crash reports: Anonymized crash logs to identify and fix bugs.
2.3 Information From Third Parties
- Google Sign-In: When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name, email address, and profile photo.
- Sign in with Apple: When you use Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple-assigned user identifier and, optionally, your name and email (which Apple may relay or hide per your preference).

We do not use your data for targeted advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics) — used for authentication, data storage, usage analytics, and crash reporting. Firebase Privacy Policy
- Google Sign-In — used as an authentication option. Google Privacy Policy
- Apple Sign In with Apple— used as an authentication option. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — used to process in-app subscription purchases on iOS. Payment data is handled entirely by Apple and we do not receive your payment card details.

5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Anonymized, aggregated usage data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), Firebase Security Rules to restrict database access, and authentication controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion:Request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”). You can delete your account directly in the App under Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Portability: Request a machine-readable export of your data.
- Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

9. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell.
- The right to delete personal information.
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, where Google and Firebase infrastructure operates. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We rely on standard contractual clauses and other appropriate safeguards for transfers from the European Economic Area.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top and, for material changes, notify you via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
